Because most of the businesses in the Borough will closed for the holiday, First Friday Hatboro is offering a special, modified schedule for this 4th of July, the first Friday of the month. Watch a parade, have a picnic or cookout with family and friends, and, while you are waiting for it to get dark and the fireworks to start, come to Hatboro for our First Friday happenings!
The Kidz Klub, A Dog's Life (and a Cat's too) pet boutique and Hatboro Baptist Church are partnering with the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce's First Friday Hatboro Committee to offer an old-fashioned 'sidewalk parade,' Independence Day trivia contest, prizes and give-aways, live music and a chance to climb aboard a fire truck. Family Activities will be concentrated in the north end of the business district, beginning at 5:30 p.m. when the Kidz Klub, an interactive toy and video game store at 201 N. York Rd. offers a "Know Your Kountry Kidz Trivia Game." Youngsters can test their knowledge of the United States and its founding fathers for a chance to win prizes and treats.
At 6p.m., an old fashioned "sidewalk parade" will kick off at the Kidz Klub. Pet owners are invited to dress animal companions in their patriotic best for a stroll to the center of town, joining kids on bikes, in wagons and strollers, also invited to don or decorate in red, white and blue. The parade will head south to the grounds of the Hatboro Baptist Church, 32 N. York Road where participants will be treated to refreshments and more trivia, prizes and give-aways. Wet Nose Rescue, a non-breed specific dog rescue based in Feasterville, will team up with A Dog's Life (and a Cat's too) 109 N. York Rd, to offer some contests for the pets, complete with prizes. From 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. "Heavenly Brew Cafe" will be set up outdoors at Hatboro Baptist Church offering live music by the alternative rock group, "Checkgauge," as well as fair trade coffee, tea and sodas.
Follow the gold First Friday Hatboro flags at business establishments along York Road and its side streets, from just S. of Horsham Road at the S. end of Hatboro’s business district, to just north of Summit Avenue at the north end, to find arts and entertainment.
